In 2003, HBD worked with Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church to construct a new, three story, 59 apartment building to provide elderly housing for the neighborhood. Due to the success of the first building, plans for an additional 52 apartments were put into motion by Trivers Associates a couple years later. HBD started ground work in early October, 2006, with completion scheduled for September of 2007.

The former Motor Parts Warehouse was in use until mid-2005 as an automotive parts warehouse. Developers McGowan/Walsh Historic Renovators sought to convert this six story, 135,000 sq.ft. building into 75 residential condominiums along with a locally reknown child’s day center to occupy the first floor. HBD, along with McGowan/Walsh and Rosemann & Associates developed parameters of renovation and budgetary planning. Interior demolition started in August of 2006 and the building is scheduled for completion in September of 2007.
Franklin School

University Club Village

Phase 1 of University Village is the construction of a two story high end 41,000 SF retail building at the corner of Galleria Parkway and Brentwood Blvd. The building will be conveniently attached to a new parking garage. As a portion of the work we will recreate the Francis Place streetscape providing new utilities, scored concrete pavement and walks, new lighting and amenities. Phase II of the project will include an additional garage structure and a high end restaurant. This project is being completed in coordination with a hotel complex being built at the north end of the project.

This project consists of the renovation and addition of two rustic cabins that are used for staff and counselors for the youth camp. The project involves a total gut of the interiors, all new mechanical systems, windows and doors with simulated divided light glass. The front of both cabins were enhanced with the addition of new covered porches, finished in rough sawn cedar beams, trim and natural stone column bases and stone pavers on the porch floors. A completion date of March 2008 is scheduled.
