Providing Value and On Time Performance

Construction of a new educational facility provides two major challenges. The project completion date usually coincides with the academic calendar. It is imperative that the building be complete, that furnishings are installed by the time that school is scheduled to open. As in healthcare projects, renovations and additions are adjacent to public areas, so life safety issues are critical.

The second challenge is the budget. Funds that are obtained from a bond issue are fixed; cost overruns are not acceptable.

H.B.D.'s project managers have the expertise to determine the price of a project in early stages of design, making the school board or superintendent more confident in proceeding with the construction. We understand Missouri's statutes with regards to Construction Management for a public Owner (RSMo 8.675 to 8.687), and can provide the critical pre-construction services, such as budgeting and scheduling, as well as manage the construction work of the subcontractors.
